Detachable Plates
Married couples or partners often wish to be memorialised on a single plaque. Since in most cases
they pass away at different times, Phoenix provides for this situation with Dual Plaques containing
Detachable Plates.
Base Plaque with First Interment

At the interment of the first person, a base plaque is ordered with an
inscription that includes the common elements of the couple such as the family name and names of
descendants. At the same time details of the individual are included on the
"first detachable plate". This is supplied with and fitted to the base plaque. In most cases the
system allows this first detachable plate to be centered on the base plaque with colour matching screws.
When the second interment occurs, the second plate is ordered. At the cemetery, the first plate is repositioned
and the second plate installed.

A variation of this system involves a single longer detachable plate. The first
interment details are centered on this plate. At the time of the second interment, a single new plate is ordered
which contains details of both persons.
An advantage of this scheme is that if there is an extended interval between the first and second interment
there will be no difference in appearance between the two plates due to one fading over time.
The dual plate system will show a difference in appearance between the two plates as the first one
will fade over time.
