Transmitting Image Files
Phoenix Foundry can accept your artwork for inclusion on your plaque. We encourage this where
customers can utilise their own design software as this helps to ensure that the eventual plaque
supplied totally meets requirements.
File Formats
Acceptable formats which are listed below in order of preference.
Vector Graphic Files
These are preferred as, if the quality is good the image can be imported into the Phoenix system and
used without further intervention by our designers.
Preferred formats in order are:
> Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) files are preferred in all cases. These files are
created in drawing packages such as Adobe Illustrator, AutoCad or Corel Draw
> Illustrator files (.ai) created by Adobe Illustrator.
> Windows Metafile (.wmf) or Computer Graphics Metafile (.cgm)
> Portable Document Format (.pdf)
NB: When sending Illustrator files (.ai) or Portable Document files (.pdf) fonts should be embedded to
ensure true reproduction.
Raster Image Files
Files submitted in these formats may have to be redrawn in EPS format by our compositors so exact
reproduction cannot be guaranteed.
These include:
> PhotoShop (.psd)
> Bitmap (.bmp)
> Tagged Image File (.tif)
> Portable Network Graphics (.png)
Points to remember:
> Black and white line art is preferred
> Resolution must be at least 300dpi
> Make the file the best quality you can.
> Please avoid sending in JPEGs if possible as the quality is generally not adequate
